"Turn, O LORD, deliver my life; save me for the sake of your steadfast love. For in death there is no remembrance of you; in Sheol who will give you praise?"

~ Psalm 6:4-5

This psalm of David finds him in deep distress, apparently for multiple reasons, and he describes himself in almost a complete meltdown!

He acknowledges being under discipline (v.1).  He needs healing (v.2).  His bones are troubled (v.2).  His soul is troubled (v.3).  He fears he is near death (v.4-5).  He is weak and weary in grief (v.6-7).  He is sobbing in his bed every night (v.6).  He has enemies all around (v.8,10).

But in no uncertain terms, David declares truth to himself and do those around him.  The LORD has heard his weeping and his pleas (v.8-9).  The LORD has accepted his prayer (v.9)and will answer according to his righteousness.

There are times when we feel so overwhelmed and that God may be far off and perhaps we even doubt; but the very act of crying out to God expresses our faith in him.  He will not let you down.
