“Sing praises to God, sing praise! Sing praises to our King, sing praises!”
~ Psalm 47:6
Whether rightly acknowledged or not, God is the King over all the Earth. He is Most High (v.2), he is exalted (v.9)…He sits on his holy throne (v.8), ruling (v.2,7) and reigning (v.8), subduing (v.3) and gathering (v.9)…he is great (v.2) and triumphant (v.5), rightly to be feared (v.2) and praised (v.7-8) and loved (v.1).
As you may expect from a book of songs, Psalm 47 repeatedly directs for all people (v.1) to sing praises to God (v.1,6-7). I am grateful that we do so together each week as Anchor Baptist Church. I am thankful for those who have the skill/desire and ability/willingness to lead us in singing praise to our Great King with loud songs of praise (v.1)
All things belong to God (v.9) and he gathers to himself a people (v.9). If you belong to him, then with joy (v.1), “Sing praises to God, sing praise! Sing praises to our King, sing praises!” (v.6)
