"Great peace have those who love your law; nothing can make them stumble."
~ Psalm 119:165
Do you consider your life as one that is on display? Well, it absolutely is! Verse 168 says, “all my ways are before you.” You may be able to keep parts of your life hidden from others, but never from the LORD. May this rightly unsettle us, sober us, and humble us.
Is your life of faith as a believer in Jesus Christ one of hope and action? Verse 166 says, “I hope for your salvation, O LORD, and I do your commandments.” Then verse 167 declares that the obedience (keeping) of the LORD’s commandments is sourced in love for them! May our love for the LORD, in who he is, what he has done, and in what he has said, never cease to grow.
Is your life full of great peace? Verse 165 says, “Great peace have those who love your law; nothing can make them stumble.” How foolish we are, when we seek peace apart from love for and obedience to the law of the LORD. There is no place more safe and secure to be, having perfect peace and rest.
Not to create a ‘checklist Christianity’, but do we clearly/directly/intentionally praise the LORD seven times a day (v.164)? Imagine the difference in our attitude, perspective, thoughts, behavior, relationships, et c. if we did.
