“Blessed be the LORD, my rock!...O LORD, what is man that you regard him, or the son of man that you think of him?…Blessed are the people whose God is the LORD!”

~ Psalm 144:1a,3,15b

Singing new songs…..we may not all like singing new songs, but in reality there is no end of new songs that can be sung of our God.  David in this Psalm pledges to sing a new song as God faithfully blesses with new victory in the face of each new opposition as he newly entrusts himself to God.

God mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23) and worthy of a new song each day.  The apostle Paul instructs Christians to “address one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord in your heart,” (Eph. 5:19).  Singing should be a regular rhythm in the heart and life of a believer; and because of God’s abundant grace in Christ Jesus there is no shortage of what to sing about.
