"Praise the LORD! Praise the LORD, O my soul! I will praise the LORD as long as I live; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being....Praise the LORD!"

We were created to give praise.  This is stated 5 times in this psalm.  But we are not to give praise to just anyone or anything, but to the LORD, to YAHWEH.  His name is used 11 times in the 10 verses of this psalm.  There is nothing that he has created that is worthy of our praise.  And therefore, there is nothing created in which we should put our hope and trust.  The LORD alone is trustworthy and true.  He is our help and salvation.  His rule is forever and ever.
