"As for me, I shall behold your face in righteousness; when I awake, I shall be satisfied with your likeness."

~ Pslam 17:15

In this psalm, David examples how we are to approach God in prayer.  We must know that he is the Savior full of steadfast love (v.7).  We must remember that he has tried, tested and knows our hearts (v.3).  Therefore, we must not come in pretension or deceit (v.1,3).  And despite knowing that he will answer our prayers (v.6), God wants us to ask him to incline his ear and hear our words (v.1,6).  In so doing, our hearts are rightly shaped and oriented in a posture of humility.

God has vindicated (v.1) and delivered (v.13) our souls through his Son Jesus Christ.  This very same Christ is the confronter and subduer of the wicked/worldly (v.13-14).

We shall behold his face in righteousness and awake to satisfaction with his likeness (v.15).
